Singaporeans were left both amused and strangely proud this week after reports emerged that Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong spent an entire Scoot flight listening to a crying baby just like everybody else in Rows 31 to 45.

Passengers onboard described the experience as “deeply humanising”, after witnessing the former Prime Minister quietly enduring four continuous hours of toddler distress, seat-kicking turbulence, and a man nearby watching TikToks at full volume without earphones.

At one point during the flight, Lee was reportedly seen staring silently ahead as the baby entered its third consecutive hour of screaming. Cabin sources say he displayed the calm composure developed after decades of handling Parliament sessions and GE rallies.
