The Polyclinic Queue Took 3 Hours. I Arrived Before It Opened. They Opened Late.
Submitted by Punctual in Pasir Ris— 26 Jun 2026
I am a punctual person. I arrived at 7:47am for an 8:00am opening. The doors opened at 8:11am. No announcement was made about the delay. I queued for three hours and seventeen minutes. My appointment was for a blood test that takes four minutes. I have done the maths. I will not be sharing it here as I do not wish to upset myself again.
Ed's note: We verified the opening time. The polyclinic website says 8am. We are not in a position to explain the 11 minutes. We sympathise with your four-minute blood test.
My Neighbour's Shoes Are Placed 2.3cm Outside The Doormat. I Have Been Documenting This Since March.
Submitted by Meticulous in Marine Parade— 24 Jun 2026
The doormat is 60cm x 40cm. I measured it. The shoes, a pair of brown loafers, extend 2.3cm beyond the left edge of the mat on average, based on 84 documented measurements taken between March 3rd and today. The measurements have been taken at 7:30am daily, which is when I leave for work. I have the spreadsheet. I have not yet decided what to do with the spreadsheet but I feel strongly that it should exist.
Ed's note: We have reviewed the spreadsheet. It is comprehensive. Column F ('Estimated Overhang in mm') is particularly detailed. We do not know what you should do with it either. We will think about it.
The Coffee Shop Uncle Gave Me The Wrong Change By 10 Cents In 2019. I Am Still Thinking About It.
Submitted by Can't Let Go in Clementi— 22 Jun 2026
It was a Tuesday. I ordered kopi-o and a soft-boiled egg. The total was $1.40. I gave $2.00. I received 50 cents in change. That is a 10-cent discrepancy. I did not say anything at the time because there was a queue and also because he seemed busy. But I have thought about it regularly since then, approximately once a week, sometimes more during periods of stress. I have returned to the coffee shop 23 times since. I always pay exact change now. He does not remember me. I remember him.
Ed's note: This is the complaint we were not surprised to receive. We cannot verify the 10 cents. We believe you. We also believe you will think about this again next week. We are sorry.
The MRT Announcement Was Too Loud. I Was Already Awake. The Announcement Was Unnecessary.
Submitted by Awake in Jurong East— 20 Jun 2026
I was standing on the platform at Jurong East. I was already awake and already on the platform. The train was already approaching. I could see the train. I did not need an announcement to inform me that the train was approaching. The announcement was at a volume appropriate for communicating with passengers who were not on the platform, possibly passengers in Jurong West. I have submitted this feedback before. I am submitting it again.
Ed's note: We checked. The announcement volume is standardised at 85 decibels across all stations. SMRT says this meets accessibility requirements. We are not saying they are wrong. We understand why you are.
