Man Shouts “Jayden”; Half The Train Turns Around

SINGAPORE — What began as a father's routine attempt to locate his son on an MRT train descended into chaos on Thursday after a man shouted "JAYDEN!" and approximately half the carriage immediately turned to look at him.

Witnesses reported that at least 17 boys, three teenagers, and one confused young executive named Jayden responded simultaneously.

"I was just trying to find my kid," said 42-year-old Darren Tan. "Suddenly I had eye contact with enough Jaydens to start my own football team."

Commuters described the scene as "deeply unsettling."

"For a moment, I thought he was some kind of prophet summoning his followers," said passenger Mdm Lee. "Every direction I looked, another Jayden appeared."

SMRT staff were reportedly forced to make an announcement asking passengers to refrain from using first names during peak hours unless accompanied by a surname, NRIC number, or GPS coordinates.

Researchers from the Institute of Demographic Statistics later confirmed that "Jayden" has evolved beyond a name and is now considered a naturally occurring population group.

"We've reached what scientists call Critical Jayden Density," explained sociologist Dr Lim. "Above a certain concentration, any public shout of 'Jayden' triggers a chain reaction."

The phenomenon is not limited to Jayden.

The report warned that shouting "Ethan, Jayden, Lucas!" in quick succession may accidentally assemble an entire Primary 3 class.

At press time, one commuter was still trying to locate the specific Jayden he had originally intended to call, having accidentally acquired three additional Jaydens along the way.
