Please Regulate The Hanging of Wet Laundry

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐟 𝐖𝐞𝐭 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐲

I wish to draw the Urban Redevelopment Authority's attention to an issue that has gone unchecked for far too long.

My upstairs neighbour appears to be practicing waterfall jitsu.

Every Sunday morning, she hangs approximately 48 pieces of soaking wet laundry outside his flat. The water then trickles down onto my own freshly washed clothes below, forcing me to rewash them. Last month alone, I estimate I have washed the same T-shirt six times because it keeps being soaked by his trousers.

The dripping has become so severe that my balcony now supports aquatic life. A mosquito recently applied for permanent residency.

I respectfully propose that HDB introduce the following measures:

- A maximum household dripping quota of 250ml per day.
- COE (Certificate of Entitlement) for king-size bedsheets.
- Staggered laundry hours based on NRIC number.
- A "Dry Before Fly" certification before clothes may be hung outdoors.
- A dedicated Laundry Enforcement Officer equipped with a moisture meter.

Singapore regulates smoking, parking, chewing gum and returning trays. Surely it is time we regulate trousers that leak like Niagara Falls.

I trust the relevant agencies will not hang this matter out to dry.
